Jobs at Home By Dustin Heath Transcription is
a great way to attain typing jobs at home. It
is a popular clerical/administrative choice.Transcription
is taking a dictated voice recording and typing
it into a document. Though not required, having
a foot pedal makes transcription much easier.
You use the foot pedal to start, stop, rewind,
and fast forward while leaving your hands free
to do the typing.
Three main types of transcription include general,
medical, and legal.General transcription can
include typing up business meetings, conferences,
lectures, memo's, letters, and the like. Usually
there is no training required for general transcription
and there are many categories it can fall under.
You could transcribe for a school and specialize
in one field, such as science, or even do a
broad range of fields. You could do it for a
business, typing their office letters and memos.
If the business is specialized, they could require
you to have a basic or thorough knowledge of
what their specialty is, especially if you are
dealing with a lot of terminology related to
it.Medical transcription usually requires training.
There are schools who can train someone who
studies full time in six months or less.
You are required to have at least a basic understanding
of the medical language. There are a lot of
disease and drugs out there, and you need to
build a good understanding of them in order
to be proficient at medical transcription. Once
you have had training, you could seek employment
through a hospital, clinic, or even medical
boards and other establishments that handle
medical reports.Click
